Cash Shop Breakdown
AION 2 runs on two currencies — Kina you earn, Quna you buy. This guide catalogues what the cash shop actually sells and at what price, separated from what is pure cosmetics.
Two Currencies
AION 2 uses two currencies. Kina is earned in play and is the currency of the player Market. Quna is the premium currency: it buys shop items, unlocks the Daeva Pass, and — through The Exchange — converts into Kina. NC laid this out in its 'Business Model: Our Approach' Team Update (July) and the Steam launch FAQ.
| Currency | Source | Use |
|---|---|---|
| Kina | Earned in play (quests, kills, crafting, dailies) | Player Market currency; gear and materials trade hands here |
| Quna | Bought with real money | Buys cosmetics, unlocks Daeva Pass Premium, converts to Kina via The Exchange |
The two-currency model and the Market/Exchange split are confirmed across NC's launch notices and every major tracker. How aggressively Quna becomes Kina (and then gear) is the heart of the pay-to-win debate — see the Value guide.
What the Shop Sells
Per NC, the shop is cosmetic-first. The categories reported from the launch shop:
| Category | Examples | Combat advantage? |
|---|---|---|
| Outfits / armor skins | Full sets | None — purely aesthetic (NC) |
| Weapon skins | Class-locked fixed items (not random boxes) | None |
| Wings | Flight cosmetics | None |
| Pets | Collection / convenience | None stated |
| Accessories | Cosmetic | None |
| Consumables | Potions, Resurrection Spiritstones | NC: do not affect gear progression; also earnable in play |
NC states cosmetics give no gameplay or combat advantage, and trackers found no randomized cosmetic gacha in the launch shop notices. Consumables are sold but NC says they do not affect long-term power and are also obtainable through normal gameplay.
