Spiritmaster
The Spiritmaster is AION 2's summoner: an orb caster that fights through elemental spirits and grinds targets down with layered damage-over-time instead of one big hit. NC's own showcase calls it the class optimized for solo play. Community-reported names are marked Unconfirmed throughout; only NC's official class description is treated as fact.
Overview
Weapon: Orb. Role: Summoner / magic damage-over-time. NC's official showcase calls the Spiritmaster a herald of spirits who commands the battlefield with elemental power, and says it is optimized for solo play. In practice you are two characters at once: you apply curses and damage-over-time from range while your spirit holds attention, adds damage, or heals you. Kill speed is slower than a Sorcerer's but far steadier, and far safer.
Pick the Spiritmaster if you like pet classes, attrition play, and being able to solo content comfortably on a slow evening. Pick something else if you want big burst numbers or a simple rotation — this class rewards tracking two bodies and several timers at once. Note on names: Korean and Taiwanese coverage often calls this class the Elementalist. Same class, same kit; global calls it Spiritmaster.
Class role, weapon and NC's one-line description are Confirmed (NC), from NC's official AION 2 class showcase. Everything else on this page — skill names, spirit behavior, stigma picks, stat priorities — comes from community guides written against the October 5, 2026 global launch client, cross-referenced across at least two sources where possible, and is Unconfirmed until checked in-game.
Strengths
- The strongest solo class in community consensus. The spirit adds damage and takes hits for you; NC itself flags the class for solo play.
- Damage-over-time means no wasted windows. Your output keeps ticking while you reposition, resummon, or dodge.
- Real sustain. Community guides report a wind spirit that heals you — solo and PvP comfort no other mage gets.
- Flexible toolkit. Swap spirits by situation: damage, defense, healing, or AoE.
- Punishes long fights. Every second a target stands with your curses on it, you are winning.
The solo strength follows NC's published description. The spirit roles and sustain details come from community guides for the global and Korean clients, and are Unconfirmed until tested in-game.
Weaknesses
- Lower single-hit burst than the Sorcerer. You will not one-shot anyone; you win by attrition.
- More to manage. Spirit positioning, resummons, DoT timers and element stacks all compete for your attention.
- Weaker when the spirit is dead. Community guides list forgetting to resummon as the number one Spiritmaster mistake.
- Slow target switching. Damage-over-time needs time on a target to pay out, which hurts in fights with rapid add switches.
Weaknesses are the mirror of the community-reported playstyle across global and Korean-server guides. Unconfirmed until verified on live.
Core Skills
The names below are the ones used by global-launch community guides. The kit has two halves — your curse magic and your spirit summons — and one mechanic ties them together: spirit skills build Four Elements stacks, and full stacks fire your fusion skill.
| Skill | What it does | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Jointstrike: Curse | Core damage-over-time applicator that hits several targets on a short cooldown. Community guides level it first. | Unconfirmed |
| Elemental Fusion | The payoff button — fires when your Four Elements stacks are full. Specializations reportedly add an AoE form and a charged form. | Unconfirmed |
| Summon: Fire Spirit | Offense summon; community guides use it for AoE damage on packs. | Unconfirmed |
| Summon: Wind Spirit | Sustain summon; reported to heal you while it fights. The solo and PvP pick. | Unconfirmed |
| Summon: Ancient Spirit | Stigma at 22. A temporary extra spirit whose attacks feed your Four Elements stacks. | Unconfirmed |
| Jointstrike: Corrode | Stigma at 27. A second long damage-over-time effect to layer with Curse. | Unconfirmed |
| Cursed Cloud | Stigma at 32. Spreads another damage-over-time across a whole pack. | Unconfirmed |
| Enhance: Spirit's Benediction | Stigma at 37. Buffs your spirit — the last slot in the community build. | Unconfirmed |
| Seize Magic | PvP stigma swap. Reported to strip buffs from a target; swapped in for Cursed Cloud. | Unconfirmed |
Sourcing: all names above come from a global-launch build guide (eloboost24.eu, written against the October 5 client); Elemental Fusion and the spirit-summon loop are corroborated by the Fextralife Aion 2 wiki and Game8's spirit build coverage, and the four-element spirit family appears across aoeah and Fextralife as well. Water and Earth spirit summons are also community-reported but appear in fewer global-client sources, so they are described in the spirit section below rather than tabled. Unlock levels, cooldowns, damage values and exact stack counts are deliberately not stated; nothing here is verified in-game yet.
Playstyle
Community guides boil the class down to two rules: always have a spirit out, and always have a damage-over-time effect on every target. A reported passive at level 17 adds bonus damage against targets suffering a DoT, which is why DoT uptime is not optional — it is the class. Your loop looks like this:
- Summon your spirit before you pull — Fire for damage, Wind if you want healing.
- Open with Jointstrike: Curse to put damage-over-time on the target.
- Let the spirit work; its skills build your Four Elements stacks.
- Spend full stacks on Elemental Fusion — your biggest personal hit.
- Layer the second DoT (stigma: Jointstrike: Corrode) so both are ticking at once.
- Resummon immediately if the spirit falls. A Spiritmaster without a spirit is a slow, squishy caster.
Against packs, swap to the spread tools: Cursed Cloud puts damage-over-time on everything, and the reported AoE specialization of Elemental Fusion pays out full stacks into multiple targets. Let the spirit hold the middle of the pack while you curse from the edge. You do not burst groups down — you make sure nothing in them stops taking damage.
The Spirit System
The Spiritmaster commands four elemental spirits, and community sources agree on the broad roles: Fire is the offense summon that fights up close with AoE damage, Wind deals AoE damage and heals you, Water is a healing and ranged-support summon, and Earth is the defensive, tanky one. Your stigma can add a fifth, temporary body — the Ancient Spirit — on top of whatever you have summoned.
How many spirits you field at once is genuinely unclear from outside the game: most sources say one elemental spirit active at a time, some describe the Ancient Spirit running alongside it, and Korean-server builds describe cycling all four spirits to keep fusion procs flowing. Treat all of it as community-reported until you have tested it yourself — the behavior may also differ between the Korean client and global. What the sources do agree on is the principle: the class gains its power from keeping a spirit active and layering their effects, never from standing there casting alone.
Group Role
You are the group's sustained damage and debuff carrier. Where the Sorcerer deletes one target on cue, you make everything in the room slightly worse off, constantly. In Nightmare Dungeons that means DoTs rolling on every add, the spirit soaking or distracting extras, and steady pack damage that never needs a burst window to land.
- Dungeon job: keep damage-over-time on all targets, answer big pulls with Cursed Cloud and AoE fusion, and let the spirit body-block loose adds.
- Positioning: mid-range, behind the melee line, close enough to direct the spirit but far enough that you are never the next target. Manage the spirit's position as deliberately as your own.
- Synergies: tanks that group adds turn your pack DoTs into free total damage; your reported buff-strip stigma (Seize Magic) doubles as group utility. A passive line community guides highlight raises your damage and the spirit's together, so anything that buffs you buffs both.
Leveling 1-45
Season 1's cap is 45, and this is the class NC built for that road. From early levels the spirit does real work: it shares your damage, takes returns for you, and — with the Wind spirit — heals you. Most classes sprint the story; the Spiritmaster walks it at a steady, safe pace. Keep the main story as your spine and side-quest freely, because you rarely need to stop.
- Levels 1-16: comfortable but simple. Curse, send the spirit, curse again. Learn to resummon without thinking.
- Level 17 spike: a passive reported to add damage against DoT'd targets comes online — DoT uptime starts paying double.
- Level 22 spike: the first stigma slot, and the community pick is Summon: Ancient Spirit. A second body on the field is the class's biggest single jump.
- Levels 27-37: the remaining stigma slots layer a second DoT, pack spread, and a spirit buff, arriving in time for Transcendence and the Ascension Trial.
- Tip from community guides: the most common mistake at every level is hitting targets that have no DoT on them. If nothing is cursed, your kit is off.
Stats & Gear
| Priority | Stat | Why | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Orb rarity (Epic/Unique) | Community guides prioritize a higher-rarity orb over fine stat swaps — the spirit reportedly scales with your overall power. | Unconfirmed |
| 2 | Poison Theostone | The consensus community pick for the weapon socket: one more damage-over-time effect ticking, which your DoT-rewarding passives check for. | Unconfirmed |
| 3 | PvE Damage Boost | The Spirit Strike passive line is reported to raise your damage and the spirit's together — the stat that pays twice. | Unconfirmed |
| 4 | HP / sustain | Solo comfort and PvP survival while your damage ticks. You win long fights by not dying during them. | Unconfirmed |
Weapon is the Orb — Confirmed (NC). The priorities above are compiled from community build guides (eloboost24's global guide plus Fextralife and aoeah coverage) and have not been tested on live. The Poison Theostone pick in particular is a community preference with clear logic behind it, not a verified best-in-slot. Exact stat weights will be published here only after in-game verification.
PvP
Community guides call the Spiritmaster one of the strongest solo and 1v1 classes: the spirit adds pressure you do not have to stand still for, your curses keep working while you kite, and the Wind spirit's reported healing drags fights into the long game you want. Your reported PvP swaps are Wind spirit for sustain and Seize Magic to strip enemy buffs. None of this is ranking data — the global client has no seasons yet — it is kit logic from launch-window guides.
- Abyss: in faction PvP you are the class that does not need to win quickly. Curse pursuers, let the spirit chase, and wear groups down around objectives. Unconfirmed until global Abyss data exists.
- Arena: the attrition plan shines — strip buffs, layer DoTs, heal through their burst, and outlast. Burst classes are your problem; other sustain classes are your food.
- Battlefield: send the spirit into the melee ball, spread Cursed Cloud across the cluster, and keep yourself boring to target. All Unconfirmed — treat as a starting point for your own testing.
